Ih hay rake

Really need a photo as could have been an original three point manufactured model on even one made for the IHC fast hitch with the three point conversion components. Is it ground driven or PTO driven? What size are the tires and are the dolly wheels two piece bolt together with (3) bolts type or a one piece stamped steel wheel? How many teeth bars and strippers are part of the basket assembly?
I am somewhat familiar with the models made around 1960 as the model 11 was a fast hitch model to which a three point conversion package could be purchased. Later a model 12 was produced as a three point rake which could be converted to a fast hitch if desired an then in the early 1960's they produced a model 16 which I believe was a three point side delivery hay rake. IH might have produced other 3 point rakes later as well in addition to the various drawbar hitch models. More information would be very helpful, Hal

What is the exact wording of the visible decals? The model and s/n plate on my IHC model 11 (a two point fast hitch model made 1958 - 1960) is on the left hand (standing behind the rake looking forward) end of the rake. The red and white paint combination is consistent with the color scheme at the time. The basket assembly should be white an the frame and hitch is probably red, Hal.

I`ll take a stab and say possibly a No. 9 . They came out after the FH/3 point No. 12 prduction ended. They were a 4 bar 3 point only rake. No 2 point conversion available. Produced in mid `60`s

Mark, nice to see you on this thread - is the No. 9 the model with only the 5 or 6 strippers instead of the 9 on our No. 11 rakes, Hal?

Good to see your plunking away on the keyboard too, Hal ! Yes ,the # 9 only had 5 strippers and 16 teeth per bar and 4 bars. If I remember, without going in the shed and counting, our # 11 fast hitch rakes have 9 strippers and 5 bars and 20 teeth per bar. So there`s quite a bit fewer teeth, 100 vs 64 between the 2 rakes.

It does have a white basket and red frame, you know it could have been a 2 point at one time never thought of that . Stay tone and i ll get some pic s of the rake ,its at a field about 40 miles away next time i go their i ll take afew pic s THANKS FOR ALL YOUR HELP!

Yep Mark, our No. 11's are 5 bar rakes with 20 teeth per bar for 100 total. I would like to get mine done in time for the 2015 RPRU to go with my Farmall 240. I recently got a wagon gear to mount the basket on for painting but am still trying to find a No. 15 with a better basket assembly if possible. I have a wanted ad running in Red Power Magazine for a couple of issues trying to find a better one - no calls yet though, Hal.

All I know is 100 teeth and clips is alot of teeth to paint- seemed I`d never get done. I did a swap on the whole basket from a # 15 on mine too. I got lucky and while I was at a steel recycler yard looking for rake teeth, a guy comes pulling in the yard with a halfway decent # 15 with most of the old style teeth and clips still on it. Got the whole rake for $35. I was happy as heck with that deal.
