my SMTA is blowing fluid out the power steering reservoir.....is there a simple explanation or am I looking at some parts replacement ?

I don't know what "TG" is .....the power steering is a bit sluggish, just want to know why the reservoir is getting pressure

Is this a problem that's just started or has it always done this for you? My reservoir was leaking pretty good so I had to make a new gasket for the lid and also has to put one under a washer below the wingnut holding the lid on to get everything sealed up.

Its a problem that's been getting worse, I have tried to seal it up and no matter what I do the fluid starts oozing out again. I just don't think my reservoir should be getting that much pressure.

The reservoir should not have any pressure. Is there a possibility it has water in the system? Have you drained, flushed and re-filled the system? If the shaft seal on the pump is bad, it could be sucking air. I doubt the TG could get air in it... it might leak, but probably not suck air. If this is one of the "Saginaw" (GM) type pumps with the reservoir mounted on the pump, there should be a fill line approximately 2/3 to 3/4 of the capacity. If you fill much above that, expansion can force fluid out.
