I have split my super c and removed the old clutch parts. The pilot bearing was the most ridiculous as it took me 7 hours trying several methods. I tried the grease and bolt hydraulic action, I tried cutting it with a hacksaw blade and I even bought a PB puller tool after much frustration and even that failed, the teeth just pulled through. However after hours of cutting and hammering it chipped and pulled out.
Now when I went to place my new pilot bearing it doesn't go in. I took a flat board and hammer to tap it in but it took a major job to get it in and now I fear there is a slight line maybe crack in it.
How in the hell are you supposed to get that sucker in? I don't think I cracked it but I am worried about trying it again. I am also worried about trying to retake the new pilot bearing out and going through 7 more hours of frustration because it is TIGHT!!!
Any help here would be appreciative. How do you go about placing those pilot bearings?
