Well I am having one heck of a time trying to get my 10-20 started. It pops 2 or 3 times but will not kept running . It was froze up real bad put new rings honed the sleeves head was done. Have checked the timing a dozen times. Ready to dig a hole and bury it. Have the rest of the tractor done. Did not have this kind of trouble with all my other farmalls.

Maybe low compression try a couple drops of oil in each spark plug hole , or starting fluid. This may not work but those are low compression engines and need run regular to stay running or you could have other issues.

My guess would be a fuel issue. A Farmall Regular carburetor will bolt on. If you have one on a known running tractor switch it and see what happens.

I have had problems with vaccume leakes, if that manifold ant sealed you wont get good gas into cylinders to let it run! oldiron29

sometime it takes a pull with another tractor. make sure the mag. has a hot spark also. could be the condenser
squirt a few shots of gas mixed with some oil into each plug hole. if she starts for a few seconds you have a carb problem.

Hows your mag? I would at least dress the points. If it hasn't been rebuilt I would send it to Nebraska Kirk for a full rebuild. Poorly maintained mags cause many headaches and cause some to just give up entirely.

Had the mag tested recharged. Will shot fire a good 1/4 of inch. Did not put a new manifold gasket on so I will get a new one. Lisning to every ones comments it sounds like fuel. It has steel wheels on it so I have to put my new rubber bars on so I can pull it Thanks for all the advice. Red Puller

Are you sure your mag is timed to No1 piston near the radiator when that piston is at TDC on the compression stroke? Once you have No1 piston at TDC pull the cap on the mag and see where the rotor is pointing. Should be at the No1 plug tower on the cap. Hal

Do you have the timing in the right direction? Clockwise from driver's view. (Yes, I learned this problem by experience!)

Try starting with a twisted belt. You can stand by the engine and try various adjustments while the engine is turning.
