Farmall H Transmission Pilot Bearing Again

When I ordered a new Pilot Bearing for the main shaft in the transmission, they send me P/N 358035R91. It had the correct O.D and I.D but was 0.810 wide whereas the original was 0.600 wide. This causes interference problems when the front input shaft is installed over the pilot bearing. Interference meaning that the front input shaft will not turn freely independent of the main shaft.
Called Case IH and they said all available parts for the H pilot bearing were all the same width.
Anyone else run into this problem?
Am I doing something wrong?

If your telling the partsmen you want a 'Pilot Bearing" for an H, they are going to sell you the bearing that goes in the flywheel because thats where the "pilot bearing" is

The manual defines two pilot bearings. The one everyone
knows about is the one that is installed in the flywheel. The
transmission break down for the H also shows a pilot bearing
as described above. They were finding the part number for the
one in the transmission. The bearing in the transmission is a
different size from the one in the flywheel.

Serial # up to 391357 uses bearing 43356DA. Serial # 391358 and higher uses the bearing the dealer sold you. 98 % chance you have a tractor below 391358. 43356DA is still available unless a recent discontinue part.

yep, 43356DA is still around.
Got one from messicks last week. in stock

Yes, that is exactly what I mentioned earlier when you asked about the star washer. The bearing you need is still available, but you need to bring in your serial number or make sure they order the older bearing. I just repaired my tractor and they had put in the incorrect bearing...it was a mess! Do not use it!
