Has anyone ever taken the flywheel off a 25, 27v, C-24-P or related sickle mowers? If anyone has, how have you done while it is on the mower? I need to replace the two noisy bearings in the main frame housing. But to get the shaft out the front where the 4 bolt cap is, the flywheel has to come off.

That "flywheel" or crank is a HEAVY press fit on the shaft. Last one I did many years ago, I think I disassembled the mower enough to get it in a press.

Are you talking about the counter balance flywheel that the pitman goes on? It is a left hand thread

Yes but there are no threads on it, only a square key in it.
