C123--- 366204R3 with no serial number

I have started tearing down my Super-C for my C153
project, but noticed the C123 currently in it has no
serial number stamped on the flat boss where the
numbers are always found. It is block number
366204R3 and has a dipstick behind the oil filter,
but is fully across the back mounting surface unlike
combine or swather motors. I took some photos and
will attach showing no serial number-any ideas?????

It probably had the block replaced at some time. New replacement blocks came without serial numbers stamped on them.

later block used as a replacement. Its the block in crankcase assembly # 366294. Uses different pistons and sleeves than the original block.

Its an old tractor an hard to tell why the block was replaced or if the engine came from another source. You wont know just whats inside until you would tear it down. It could have the big sleeves and 3 1/8 pistons or even the 3inch ones hard to tell until teardown. I have three engines one came from a fork truck built in MINN i dont know what it has for pistons but another engine had the 3 1/8 but would take the 3 1/4.

I will start the tear down as so as I get the C153 here and ready to mount. Thanks for the replies I always like to learn new things about IH.
