Farmall F-12 Transmission Fluid

Hi,
What is the proper transmission oil for a 1937
Farmall F12/F14 and how much does the transmission
hold? It has the hydraulic lift on it too. Does
anyone know the type of oil and capacity of the
reservoir for that? Also, can that same oil be used
in the heisler overdrive? Thanks.

I've got 3 F-12's and 2 F-14's. I use SAE 85-140 gear lube in all of them. The book says 16 quarts for the transmission. The power lift takes about a gallon. The Heisler overdrive takes about one pint. I use the same lube in the overdrive and hydraulic lift with no problems. HTH.

TSC(farm stores),Bulk 'plants',Coops,Walmart.......About anywhere that sells oil in 5 gal buckets
