1939 A ID tag

I just got a "39 "A" and the id tag is on the pedal guard instead of the seat, no holes on seat stand for one, matches # on engine "6191". Is that standard for the early model "A"s? Also, it has a Wixco Mag, I have a parts one that has a Fairbanks, and another has the IH Mag, is one preferred over the other??? I can only get spark from the IH, not very hot. Other two get nothing. Any advise on which way to go??

the tag is in the correct spot for a 1939 A. For the mag, just put in a new coil, points, and condenser, and you should be good to go.

Just use the IH H-4 magneto give it a tune-up new points & condenser coil if needed that way it is correct to the tractor
