International 454 transmission

Heard a bad squealing noise in transmission while running bush hog and the tractor stopped moving very quickly. Idled down and the tractor moved forward and backward with no noise. Turned PTO on and went 200 yards and it did same thing again. Any comments before I start taking the transmission apart?

Hi, 454 has two transmissions, speed transmission for gears 1-4 and Lo/Hi/Rev transmission under drivers seat. Bearings in transmissions are lubed by return hydraulic oil from oil cooler. Does the transmission oil pressure light on the dash work?
Where does the squealing noise come from, by clutch area, by the section with the flat cover where you step thru or more under the seat area.
Is the clutch return spring broken and allowing clutch release bearing to contact the pressure plate fingers? Is it the clutch release bearing that you hear squealing?

Checked the pressure by removing the pressure switch and using a pressure gauge, 25 psi at idle. Clutch, pressure plate and bearing, less than 100 hrs since I replaced. I removed the inspection plate and all looks good. Drained oil in each compartment, very clean. cut filter open, also clean. The noise was from under seat, as best as I could tell. When the tractor made the noise and stopped the pto and engine never slowed down. I purchased new in 1973. Have replaced the clutch a few times, rebuilt the engine and injector pump last year.
