Tach for 1960 IH B275...

Found a tach and tach mounting bracket for my 1960 IH B275. On my motor the boss on the right side of the motor is not machined for the "mormal" tach drive. I've been told that "Early" B275's" had a tach drive off the CAV injection pump.

Anyone have pics or parts lying around I could use to get my tach working.

I do a lot of pto work and would like to know I'm running at pto speed.
 
Hi Bart, the early B275s from 1958 to1960 had the CAV in line injection pumps and then IH went to the CAV rotary pumps. The tacho drive on the inline pumps was at the back of the pumps. Have you got a tacho drive adaptor on the back of your pump as finding one even here in the UK is not easy. mj
 
I am not sure if I have a tach drive on the injector pump. Do you have a pic that shows what the drive looks like? I may have a drive under a cover on the injection pump and don't know where to look.

I found a "hourmeter" part on the CAV injection pump, but it shows it as a separate part and doesn't show where it goes. Does anyone have a blowup or schematic that shows how this goes together?

I'd love to just order the part and a tach cable and get everything working, but I'm guessing there is more to it.

I just found that my pump has a hourmeter on the back of the pump. (Towards the driver) Is that replaced by the tach drive?

I know it's been awhile, but I just happened to shoot some carb cleaner to clean off some grease and dirt and found the hour meter window.

If anyone has a picture of a drive that works on the early CAV inline pump I'd love to see it.
