Bought a Farmall A with a mystery part

I bought this A at an auction yesterday, it is the first tractor I have ever bought that I was able to drive home, all of the others have needed work and it is also the first offset tractor I have driven. I don't plan to keep it long term but I have wanted to try one of these and see what they were like. There was what I was able to tentatively identify as a fertilizer drive sprocket on the left final drive, it is the part on the left in the picture. On the right drive there was a different kind of drive shaft like device that I do not know how to research because I have no idea what to call it. Any advice will be much appreciated.

That paer will fit either side depending on what it needs to drive planter ect.

Thank you very much for the reply. Is there a proper name for the part you described? I have been searching for it under every name I can think of and have not come up with anything that looks like it yet.

Your mystery part is the fertilizer drive. It was commonly used on the A and B for fertilizer units, planters etc. The sprocket on the left is from the fertilizer drive for a Super A. I presume the rest of the drive is still on the tractor. With the appropriate drive installed, fertilizer units could move between the A and Super A.

I think it is called a Planter Drive Sprocket.

What does the drive deal look like inside the casting? I would imagine it is some sort of hex socket that goes over the inner axle nut on the A.

The inner end of the axle has 2 flats and a threaded hole in the end. There is a sort of special washer that fits over the end of the axle and is held with a cap screw. The outer edge of the washer is round with 4 sort of prong shapes sticking out around the edge. The shaft in the drive assembly has an end that vaguely resembles the shape of a socket. It has 4 notches that engage the 4 prongs. Maybe a spanner wrench would be a better comparison than a socket.
