Gene Bender

He also tends to disappear every year at about this time. If you did a search you would probably find annual posts in the Spring like this one. He has outdoor work like the rest of us. Some years I know he was working on projects for RPRU.

Dave,
I guess I did a "search" for Gene.
I picked up the phone and talked to him this forenoon.

Lowell, thanks for checking on Gene. Was getting slightly worried too.

That would be my "preferred search engine"! I have noticed though, every Spring...where's Gene! One year it was a particular nuisance for me as I wanted some parts and played the devil getting a hold of him. Glad he is well.

mkirsch,
Smart phone??? He and I are the last 2 albatrosses left in this world who use dumb phones. In my case, I am retired, and I don"t want to know when people walk out of the hardware store or start a car or have a hangnail and I do not want my phone to ring when I take a nap. Gene and I talk to each other on the phone only when we think we have something important to talk about...Farmalls and the Iowa tractorcades.
I carry my dumb phone but it is turned off unless I need to call wifey or the ambulance to come pick me up if I fall off the tractor or fall on the floor.
Driving my Farmall with only 3 gauges to look at, pulling a rope trip plow...my idea of heaven.
I think we really should go back to the telegraph.
My friend says progress has been pretty good thru the years, but now it has just gone too far!!!

You can make them ring as much or as little as you want, or not at all.

Consider two distinct advantages of the smartphone:

1. Parts books.
2. Forum access.
