2001 loader/460

I bought an 460 with a 2001 loader mounted, sometime in the lifetime of the loader someone whacked and shortened the (push arms)? frame, that go to the axles. Can some one get me the measurement from the rear cylinder hole to the back side of the plate that mounts to the axle? The bucket rubs the front wheels when it is down.
Thanks, Bob

I have a 2001 loader on a Farmall 656 row crop. Mine measures 42 1/2" from the edge of the axle mount that touches the rear axle, to the center of the cylinder hole that's pictured in your photo. Your loader was likely shortened to fit a utility tractor at some point in time.

You'll need to do something with the front brackets as well when you lengthen the frame. The brackets have projections that engage the front cross channel of the loader frame to keep it from lifting up. If the loader frame moves forward these brackets will need to move with it. The 460 brackets where two pieces on each side bolted together so maybe you can just re-position them at the connection.

="RLS-ia; as they say in the western tv shows 'hold it right there mister'

I peeked in my Operators & Parts Manuals and the 656 is a page unto it's own. The Farmall 504, 460 and 560 use the same front mounting brackets and the rear axle attaching plate is the same but, I would hold out in the hopes someone with a 2001 loader (original) mounted on a Farmall 460 chimes in with a measurement; not to berate the other poster. Sure, 'you can make it work with a welder and a torch' and maybe you aren't a purist. Just my input from the old oak office chair. Enjoy your 460!

Well, Al from Wisconsin made me get off my butt and go out to the pasture where I have another 2001 loader off a Farmall 560 waiting for someday usage. As it happens, it measures 42.5 inches, exactly like the 2001 loader on my Farmall 656. So folks, 42 1/2 inches is still the correct measurement. Regarding moving the front mounts, like someone else mentioned, the mounts that I have simply hold up the side frame of the loader to the correct height. There's no need to move them forward, the side of my frame could be supported by the mounts, anywhere along that side frame. --Lee

I have a 2001 loader mounted on my 756. It is labelled (fits 460, 504, 560) and is 42 1/2" as others have stated.
It uses same front mounts as yours but instead of adding tubing to actual loader frame, to fit the 756, a foot long piece of 4 by 5" sq. tubing had been added as a vertical spacer between the rear of the loader bolting plate and the axle. Worked very well.

I found the front bracket information and know where to move it to , I also have the piece that bolts across the front.

Thanks for all the replys
