International 766 Hydralics

Help, 1976 International 766. The hydraulic pump is getting weak, 1100 PSI at the pump and 900 Psi at the remotes. Priced one at the local IH dealer, OUCH !!! Where do I need to shop for a replacement? Maybe a used one, guaranteed to be good? Suggestions? I am in central Texas. Thanks

I just checked the price and it's $775 for part number 1949296C1 at my local CaseIH dealer. Really not that bad.

You can do a bit better with an A&I dealer. Look for the 17GPM pump.

IMHO a used pump is always a gamble that you can't win. You pay 1/2 new price for a used pump that's "guaranteed" to be good, but even if it is good and/or the seller honors the guarantee and eventually gets you a good one, how long will it last?

Then you get disgusted and buy a new one. Now you've got 1-1/2 times the cost of a new pump in it.

Abilene Machine in KS has both the 12GPM and the 17GPM $395.00 New pump. So there you have it for half of the dealer price. 800-255-0337
