1086 clutch

New to this tractor. I was spreading fert. When I went to stop, depressing clutch was easy, no pressure and tractor kept going. Up to that point everything seemed strong. Checked fluid. It was low do to leaking coupler, refilled. No change. Extremely easy pedal and clutch not disengaging. Person I bought from said he had replaced clutch and TA. 1977 w/ 3900 hrs.

The first 1086"s came out in 76. So it is unlikely it had 3900 hours in 77. Could be, but doubtful.

Anyway I think your master cylinder or the clutch linkage could be bad.

Have someone watch the linkage while depressing the clutch. See if every thing moves down to the clutch itself like it should.

Two possibles here (1) one of the clevis pins fell out . (2) the throw out bearing went thru the clutch fingers . Oh and there is a third (not awake yet ) it could be that a damper spring from the disc came out and wedged in the pressure plate .I am leaning to the first two.

If all linkage is working, take bottom plate off and have someone work clutch and watch t/o brg tosee what its doing. Comman problem is brg wearing thru fingers. Been there several times!

Hey guys, thanks to all who responded. A linkage pin was out, fixed with a cotter pin. Simplest things first, right? Got caught thinking the worst. Thanks again!
