What goes on during a " Plow Day" does every one get together and see who can plow the straightest or the deepest they don't do that here where I live New Brunswick Canada.

Plow here is just anyone that has a tractor and a plow and wants to plow ground. Its no competition here. Only competition you have here is how many bottoms you can pull vs the other guy! It is fun and you can run through some acreage fast!

Same here... everyone just shows up and plows like wild men (or women, daughter and I even plowed a little bit last fall).
Sometimes there are 15-20 tractors all going at once on two or three lands.
Sometimes the rows get a bit skewed because some old tractor runs into trouble and has to stop plowing - so it causes a little zig or zag. Like in the pic below - the JD in the lead had trouble twice and had to be towed off the field - but everyone just moves over a hair.
They did all stop and try to help get it going - but it was a no-go. But nobody worries... it's just all about the FUN!
There are at least 8-10 tractors plowing at the same time that are not shown in this photo.

So it is a fun day to help out some farmer get his ground plowed and bragging rights for the guy that can pull the most bottoms and to work his tractor some for the good of the machine. Nice idea.

Where near Noblesville do you have these plow days? I grew up southeast of Noblesville. I think I've heard about these plow days and that they are held on the Gatewood farm? Or maybe the Musselman farm?
