throttle lever

my 300 has bad habit of wanting to through the throttle back up in to idle when you have it in full throttle. my plate the washers sit in is pretty worn down can you buy new ones? and also were can you buy new pins that hold in the front emblem?? hope I explained it well enough.

You can loosen the bolt holding the washer and turn the washer to go in the notches at a different place. Also how good they hold depends on parts wear of the throttle rod and associated parts. Does the rod still have a clip or pin at rear to keep it from moving forward?

Under the dash is a spring system that is probably rusted thin. (replace the spring with a little heavier one) The teeth on the rack can be filed square with pattern , or Needle files. Turning the washer to a square spot will also help. Jim

On the front emblem, the pins are cast as part of the emblem.

You can't get new pins. There is no effective way to "glue" them on to the emblem that will hold.

The options are, get a new aftermarket emblem, OR use stainless screws to hold the emblem on through the existing holes in the sheet metal.

If you are talking about the CLIPS that push over the pins, you can get those at any good hardware store like Ace or Servistar (i.e. NOT a "big box" store).

Unless someone changed things on the F300. Should have one flat washer and a lock washer and bolt retaining them to the throttle lever. If its the original washer and fits the notches it can be rotated to go in the notches at a different area. If the notches are okay the next area to check is where the throttle lever attaches to the throttle rod. Check condition of the holes and pin. In front of the throttle lever should be a washer, a spring, another washer and a pin through the rod or a C clip. If that's all okay, at the rear end of the throttle rod the handle goes to is a pin or a C clip. If this pin or clip is missing or worn off like some, it will let the throttle rod shift forward and loose some spring pressure pushing the throttle lever in the notches.
Washer that goes in the notches from what I remember is not standard. Its a 1/4 inch washer but about the size of a 5/16 uss on the OD and thicker than a 1/4 one.

Slater pretty well sums up what you need to look for and repair. The 300 is a whole different throttle than the older M & H style. Not necessarily any better or worse, just totally different.
