Taking hydraulic unit apart to clean and repaint can not get left side cylinder to move could this be locked with hydraulic fluid the other side piston moves fine tractor has been apart and setting for three years it was inside nothing set out any suggestions

Have you taken the head off the unit?

If I were working on it, I would probably tip the unit up on a clean rag, head down, and try tapping on the end of the cylinder with a deadblow hammer to see if there is any movement.

Once you remove the spool valve for that cylinder, it should release any vacuum and allow the piston to slide out.

Yes the unit is off and I pulled the spoil out and have tap on the piston rod and still dosen't move I think I will need to take unit apart.
