My 340 lost power so I got it in the garage and started checking. Did compression check #1,2,4 was 135lbs #3 was 75lbs. Pulled the valve cover and #3 had a bent push rod. Straightened it and did another test. Same 75lbs. pulled the head and #3 badly scored probly broken ring. #1,3,4 have the same piston heads and #2 is different. Has anyone seen this before?

Yep.Someone OHed it and didnt have a clue......I once did some troubleshooting on a 'farmer overhaul' Ford 7000. Thing started HARD,lots of white smoke,no power. Finally pulled the head and found 3 different pistons!!!DUH! Soooo,I got to OH it again. This time the pistons were all the same.

You don't need to pull the sleeves. They are wet sleeves and will come out easily with an oak stick and a couple of smacks with a hammer from underneath.

I got the engine apart. #1 spun bearing, #2 broken piston skirt, #3 scored cyl wall, #4 good.
Does anyone know where to get another crank in Ontario? used or new? Also #1 rod is worn because of the bearing.
