A good friend of mine put 19-9-38 on his only used for tractor rides and parades now days this old girl was used and abused before he got it a couple of years ago but it really looks good with the bigger tires and scoots along a lot faster on the road now.

MY 460 CAME WITH 13.6X38. WAS MY DAD'S FIRST NEW TRACTOR. FIRST SEVEN YEARS IT DID JUST ABOUT EVERY THING ON OUR FARM-SOME DAYS RAN FROM SUN UP TILL SUNDOWN. GAS, OVERHAULED AT 10,000PLUS HOURS AND USED ORIGINAL SIZE BEARING ON UNTOUCHED CRANK. HAVE ALWAYS LIKED THIS TRACTOR

Andrew Curry; my Operator's Manual shows:

Fronts in four-ply = 6.00-16, 6.50-18, 7.50-18 and 7.50-20.
six-ply = 6.00-16, 6.50-16, 7.50-18

Rears* in six-ply = 12.4-38 (11-38), 13.6-38 (12-38), 13.38, 15.5-38
* I think over the years some sizes have changed. Folks more smarter than this author will advise.

Enjoy your Farmall 460; mine has hibernated all winter.

I can't figure out where the smiley faces are coming from as retyping the text should read '...38)'.

good grief, smiley should = '8' then the closed ')'character.

This is creeping off topic, but since you commented: When you are entering a post, check the box labeled "Disable Smilies in this post" (there in modern view, didn't check classic).

Another work around is to put a space in -- "8 )" rather than "8)".

I had one 460 and it came with 13.6 x 38's , the best thing i did with that tractor was put 14 inch wide rims on it and a new set of 15.5 x38 Firestone all track field and roads on it . Just never warmed up to that tractor , plum hated it and was so happy when someone wanted to buy it and we even hauled it out to the guy in a snow storm . That 460 was the seventieth 460 built S/N 571 .

13.6x or 15,5 x38. measure the rim to determine the correct size. There really isnt a"correct" factory tire. Its just kinda how they were ordered. They could also have used a 36 or 34" rim/tire.I would think 13.6x38 is the most common. If I owned a 460,13.6 is what i would have on it.
