W4 Choke Rod

My W-4 was cobbled up with a choke cable fastened up near the steering wheel. It sticks when I start it, and I have to jump off and manually flip the choke off before the engine dies. And sometimes when it sticks, gas runs out of the carb and makes a mess.

I seem to recall the original setup was a small rod that was attached down near the starter button. Does anyone know of a source for these? I found a choke rod for the H in one of my catalogs, but I don"t know if that will fit. I also don"t know if I am missing some pieces in addition to the rod.

Thanks,
Tim

You can eaisily make one from a length of 1/8 rod:length of # 9 wire;Stick of gas welding rod....Then drill a SMALL hole in the end that goes to the carb for a cotter pin.
