1066 question on brakes

When I look at the brake "drums" on each side of my 1066, one side is different than the other. There's a rectangular cover plate with a hose on the right side (nothing like it on the left). Is this normal? I have fluid leaking from a hose under this cover plate and want to replace it.

I think I found my own answer. I believe it's the differential lock?
I'd like to check the brake discs and want to pull this assembly off. Is there an easy way? Or is there something I should be careful of? Kevin

One of IH's fabulous blunders---the differential lock. Yes, pulling the right brake assembly is pretty much straight forward.. IIRC, the discs will be oily & need replaced or take a propane torch to heat them to drive the oil out. Believe there's a snap ring in there, also. Good luck.

To remove the right brakes with a differential lock once you remove the hose you need to disassemble the differential lock clutch assembly. There is a snap ring that holds the inside part of the diff lock clutch on the bull pinion. Once the snap ring is removed the rest of the disassembly procedure is the same as the left side.

Wow! Just went to the dealer and priced a new hose for the differential lock. $500 for the hose seems a bit much! Maybe I'll try and fabricate something from a brake line.
