I have heard there is a a kit to repair sloppy shifters on farmalls. Does anyone know what its called and where to get it?
Also needing to rebuild the seat on 400. Are the bushings still available from ih?
Thanks.

Sloppy Shifter kit is sold from an IH guy in MN. Usually sells them on eBay so keep an eye out there...Lieske Tractor I believe. Bushings, pivot rod, spring and shock are all available for your seat.

sloppy shifter kit, we got one off ebay and put it on our H. We also got a minimally used shifter with a good finger on the bottom.

If the end of your shifter is worn down to a nub, get it re-welded back to about 3/4" fore-and-aft, and about 1/3" width. There's a picture of the end for you, someplace.

Here is a link to the part from eBay. I had purchased one from Pilot Knob Restorations when he was the first guy on the block with these. His parts are different and not as nice as the one from eBay. The eBay kit doesn"t require the housing or deck plate to be machined and a bushing installed if it is real loose. It only looks slightly different than the factory setup with the allen heads on both ends. But with these, they lock the pin together and don"t rely on the press fit in the housing or top deck plate. The eBay kit is all I use from now on.

If your shifter tip is worn, see the attached photo to build it up with weld and dress it.
