What is a W9 worth?

I dont believe its worth a tremendous amount of money. No more than any other (big)old tractor of that era. They are brutes, would make a fine loader tractor.Ask yourself, can I replace this for a 'newer/better' tractor for what I could get out of this?Even if I got a premium out of it?What's the expected useage? good luck!

Asking and getting are totally different, they can ask $2000 for a non-running W9 every day and it will sit there unsold until they die. A non-running one with a stuck engine is worth less than scrap price as it sits. If a seller wants scrap price, he has to load it up and haul it to the scrap yard, so there is time and expense doing that.

I would say $2000 is a more reasonable price for a running W9. Price can go up from there depending on condition and tires.

FYI That live hyd pump off of your W9 won't fit on an M, it is too big and the bolt holes aren't in the right places.

This place says it will? http://www.cltractor.com/clweb/do/product/IHS284

So why wont it work?

I suspected the same thing. Years ago, I measured a WD-9 pump with the intention of putting it on a WD-6…….it looked like it should fit……..but the mounting holes were not where they needed to be. I would bet that a W-9 to M hydraulic pump transplant would have the same problem.

As for the aftermarket websites that say it should fit, they often have errors in the list of applications. The safest bet is to check the part numbers in the original IH parts manuals and see if they match.
