c135 motor in a Farmall C?

There is someone around here selling a C-135 motor. According to the seller, it needs a crank and one rod, and a carb.

From my understanding, this motor is a direct bolt in on a Farmall C. I would be interested in putting this motor in, as I will be pulling with our 1948 C this year. After the C-135 went it, it would have to be put into the enhanced classes but thats fine.
Can someone fill me in on all the need to know's when it comes to putting a C-135 motor in a 1948 Farmall C?

Have you looked to make sure you can even get a crank? The engine may need a crank because the seller can't find one, and that's why its for sale.

I put a c135 into a super C .It takes a bit of work to get it in there. First of all the crank in the c135 isnt drilled out on the back of the engine .Then the rad doesnt fit so i changed that to a rad from a 140. My c135 came out of a swather ,maybe some are different. It really makes a super C snapy. Erik..

Bet you the crank wasn't drilled on yours because it came out of a swather. Even a C135 would/should have a pilot bushing in the crank.

Yeh your probably right a swather motor could be different. I just cut the shaft off about 3/4 of an inch and put a pilot bearing in the fly wheel. Had to make a bushing first so i could find the right bearing to go in there.

I have a C with what I believe is a 135. It bolts up except for for one bell housing bolt as I recall.
Would like to sell or trade.

My C has the 113 motor in it. I would trade, but I'm out in Connecticut so the drive would be pretty far.
The guy only wants $150 for the motor so, not a huge investment if I find out its not feasible.

A 135 from a 404 is less trouble to install . A
creative mind can make most things possible if you
are committed.

If you could find the later block it will take the 3 1/4 sleeve and pistons that will give you the 135 then head from a 240 add the gov spring get rpms up to 2000 and its easy to get 40 or so HP. Friend of mine did that and last time i talked to him he was getting 44 on a dyno had it in a BN.
