Case IH 685 with Case IH loader and shuttle shift - all above average condition.
Good tractors or not?
Consider to buy or stay away from it?

Thanks.

Good tractors, brakes and parking brake are the weak points.

Shuttle trans still has a dry clutch.

I would buy one.

Great tractor. pretty much the same as 684. 674. Loads of them around. I saw a McCormick with the same rear end and a Perkins engine. They must be using up old inventory.

Hi
As said basically a remodeled 674 type tractor agree on brakes comment, is a way better tractor than the 40 series after it for pulling power though.

Not sure if it applied to the 685. The 885 version we had in the U.K had a fault in the shuttle shift or maybe clutch on them this being adout 25 or so years ago, I don't remember exactly what it was now.

The dealers booked them in like getting a number from the meat line at the store at certain hours, our friend had a front wheel assist new like it.

All of the 885's failed without exception, and had to be updated by the dealers. Might be worth finding out about this and if it is right for this model, and has the update ever been done.
Regards Robert

I love my 685, have had it for almost 20 years and have no complaints. I have always kept my out for a second one.
