I bought this 886 a few months ago and the problem i"m having is vibration in the cab at various RPMS. Here"s What I have done. The cab mounts were shot so I replaced them. I have inspected the vibration dampner or harmonic balancer. IT starts perfect with no smoke. At less than 1200 rpms it is smooth and quiet and at wide open it doesn"t vibrate much. any ideas? Is that the D-358 engine. They quit putting balancing weights on the crankshafts on those Neuss engines and some had a problem. There is a modification for that but can't remember for sure. I think it consists of a different balancer pulley.

Are you sure it is the engine or tires and terrain causing the vibration. My 986 will get intermittent vibration due to tires and terrain. Feel your machine. Just a thought.

cousin had a 886 for thirty years bought new and it would vibrate like that going down the road, would generally settle down in softer terrain and lower ground speed. Have you field worked it yet?
