steeel piston rings sectional type piston rings

curios if any body has seen or used a multi section compression ring? they have six individual rings in stead of one ring that makes up a compression ring. I have a set and thinking about using them in a T-20 engine.

The box says P.R. 50
12 Compression 3 3/4" x 3/16"
4 Oil 3 3/4" x 3/16"
Fits international tractor Models Reg. Farmall and f-20

post a pic., as the box is giving the ring size for 12 compression rings. I don't know how 6 individual rings would make up 3/16". would be mighty thin.

The top ring is a solid ring, the second and third ring are made up of six individual rings with a expander behind them. The six rings are about the same thickness as the rings that go on the top and bottom of a normal oil ring. I tried to post a scan of the sheet that came with the rings but I have no idea how to do it to this format. I post on ebay and craigslist all the time with ease, must be something simple I am missing, heck the wife couldn't get it to work for me.

interesting, as ihc is again ahead in tech. would think that these rings would be more beneficial by sealing better than 1 thick ring. maybe it was kind of a trial and error thing and did not take off.
