Upstate Bluebird Return

This morning is the first sign of the Bluebirds returning to Upstate, two pairs. Robins have been here for a few weeks (during the sub-zero stretch).

Here in Wisconsin, we had 2 bluebirds at our heated water dish (for the birds) a few days ago but now are gone. They were probably "scouts" checking things out as is their habit. My bluebird boxes are cleaned out and ready.

I would post some pics but I have to figure out how to do that.

If bluebirds or robins migrate far it is news to me. They flock up and find good sheltered habitat and open drinking water. We have bluebirds in the yard year around but the robins you have to go into the woods along the stream to find them, but there they are, eating berries and poking in the stream edges. They show up in the yard when the snow melts.

Wow, my first attempt at posting a picture looks like the bluebird is going to hurt somebody!

I am trying another pic of the same day. The brick in the heated water dish is for a place for birds to sit on while drinking.

It's good to hear about any signs of spring!

"Upstate" is that New York? In Minnesota we'd say "Up Nort".
