I got real lucky. Had the steering box apart on my SC, put it back together with new seals, etc., nothing special, just the way it was supposed to be, put in the recommended oil and it hasn't leaked a drop in several years. Maybe my converting it from tricycle to wide front helped, but it's nice to have one that doesn't leak. Both my JD H and MT leak, even after having the MT apart and going back together the same way I did on the IH SC. As soon as it stops leaking, indicating all the oil is out of it, I'm going to refill it with JD corn picker-head grease. I hear that dries 'em up. That's what I put in my AC G last fall, and no signs of leaks - of course even hell's froze up this winter.

Ouch! I just had my super c front end apart and installed new seals but no grease. Have not drove it yet cause I have to boil gas tank, but sure hope it does not leak. Did not even think about grease

A good solution which I did on my SA is to remove the fill plug and then drill and tap and install a grease fitting. When you lube the tractor, give it one squirt.

Quoting Removed, click Modern View to seeIn that case, oil should stay in it.
