"Mark in Upstate; seems I recall reading about the 'hot cylinder treatment'. What is your recipe for the hot toddy? Will you have your tractor completed so you can pose it in a winter scene?

Ya. Thats my favorite way to unstick a stuck engine. Never had it not work. I usually use straight gas. Did you go straight or cut it with diesel?

These are the gifts that were hauled out of the brush row. 9N's, (one runs), Ferguson 2 bottoms, fast hitch 3 bottoms, 24" dics, 12' spring tooth, JD running gear, Brillion double row packer, NH crop chopper, NH 55 side delivery and two 5' brush hogs. Here are some photos last spring. This was my fifth major engine rebuild; three diesel, two gas and multiple 2 stroke engines. The 450 engine was so set up that the fire cocktail, (diesel, gas, ATF, PB and 25T journal jack) really had no effect. She had been sitting outside uncovered for more than a decade. God bless the previous owner to put a cover on the manifold. When I pushed the cylinders out everything came, even when I imploded the piston.
Thank you to my children (fifth generation) for all the help they give our cause.

I have a 1958 450 that I bought from the original owner. It is in about the same shape as yours. It's a darn nice tractor that I would not want to give up.
