403/ 503 combine worth?

Not sure on condition but was told it was uses to harvest up until last year. Has a disel engine and not sure on what heads or drive train it has. I was just wondering what an approximate value would be. Thanks for the help trying to save it from scrapper if it"s worth keeping.
 
Motor has some value but thats about it.Not much call for 301 diesel.If it was 310 german diesel out of 715 combine then the market is greater.Scott
 
Does it have the quick tach feeder house? Nice combine if it does. Changing heads was always a little time consuming and it just about required 2 people to do so. wasn't a bad combine in it's day. Ran both 403/503.

if its been looked after it will do the same job as a new one for a lot less money.they are a very simple machine with common parts.
 
There is a 303 gas, hydro for sale locally. It is in "field ready" condition with all three heads for $2500. It is still for sale as far as I know. It should scrap out at about $1250.
 
SAVE IT. Finding an original 403/503 diesel is like finding a hens tooth! I have a 403 diesel that I converted, but was lucky to find the right diesel parts off a parts machine from SteveIL to make it correct. In fact it is the model used to make the toy 403 that is the feature of the upcoming South Dakota Red Power Roundup. Take some pictures and let us see what you found. For value depends who wants it but I would offer scrap and go up from there. Good Luck

That is a nice looking 403. We had a 503 windrow special that we mounted a 429 corn head on and then dualed the drive tires. Wish I could find the pictures. Dad wants to get his 503 to the show this Summer, but we haven't really figured out how yet. Still working on that. Should be a great show.
