I was in Tractor Supply today, just wandering around looking for something interesting.
I recently bought a 240U and it has a Stanley "IH-3" muffler on it... LOUD! That's because Stanley mufflers don't have baffles.
Looking at the mufflers in TSC, I noticed that the "CA-2" muffler was roughly the same length and had the same inlet and outlet sizes as the IH-3.
I looked up inside the CA-2 muffler, and it has a BAFFLE, and it's actually slightly CHEAPER than the IH-3.
Clearly Stanley can put baffles in their mufflers without increasing cost, so why don't they?
Stanley must be a Case fan or something...
