1566 steering delay problems

I"ve got a 1566 ih that will not steer until it sets running for about ten minutes while I crank the wheel around. I normally just deal with this issue, but I am curious as to what the problem is? The oil in the transmission is not milky like it has water in it. Anybody know what"s happining?

It may be a Oring in the intake of the MCV. a simple cure that has a good probability of working is to use 5 gallons of Hytran over full. It harms nothing but covers the suction leak. Jim

Just had this happen to our 986, replaced the filter and changed and rebuilt multiple control valve. Located just under left side battery. The pump bolts onto rear of valve body, our tractor took a couple of minutes to pick oil up.
