Has anyone ever made??????

Has anyone ever made or seen an adapter that would switch three point hitch to 2 point fast hitch???? I know someone some place has seen or tried to make one

I have one I think made by dakon I used it once on 720 john deer worked ok but haven't used it since I sold that tractor if you are interested in it let me know

There are many 2 to 3pt. conversion/adapter options, but very few 3 to 2pt. adapters. I have 2 Abbott 3 to 2 point adapter hitches. I think that Abbott made some of the earlier 2 to 3 point hitch conversion packages, too.

Rex, From reading the responses there appears to be some confusion in the adapter you are asking about. Are you asking - is there an adapter that allows the use of an IHC 2 point fast hitch implement on a tractor equipped with a 3-point lift system or are you asking about an adapter to adapt a 3 point implement to a 2 point fast hitch IH tractor? If you are wanting to use a three point implement on a 2 point fast hitch IHC tractor (like your IH 240 Utility) there are adapters currently being produced to support that need. Bates Corp. in Bourbon, Indiana offers newly made ones on their website. I haven't seen an adapter for a 2 point fast hitch implement to a 3 point tractor but guess they could have been produced.
In an earlier thread you mentioned needing to obtain a May-June 2004 Red Power magazine for some fast hitch information. If there is something you want copied I would be most happy to provide that to you as I have a copy. You can also obtain past copies from Red Power through their website for $5.00 postpaid I believe. If you just need some copies my email is open on this thread if you want to contact me, Hal.

What I am looking for is something to use my fast hitch implements on my IH 385 utility tractor, sorry for the confusion.

About 30 yrs ago my cousin had an adapter to put on a 3 point hitch which allowed you to pick up 2 point implements. I borrowed it to use a fast-hitch cultivator on my 1066. Don't remember what brand it was or where it ended up. He's long retired and was at his dispersal sale but it was not there. Would like to have it now! It hooked up like a quick hitch but the 2 pt arms went inside of lower arms and latched.

Hopefully this works. Here's a picture of 2 Abbott 3X2 hitches:

The closest one is looking at the rear where you slide in your 2pt. prongs/drawbar/piece of equipment. The rear/farthest away one looks at the tractor side. The rear one also has the toplink bracket removed and rewelded to the underside of the frame and has smaller pins in the 3pt. hitch connections. The original owner had a Case with an eagle hitch and an IH tractor with a Cat. II 3pt., so maybe that's why he moved the toplink bracket there and why it has smaller pins.

(quoted from post at 08:47:47 12/27/13) Thanks for the photo AG, that seems to be exactly
what I am looking for. Don't want to part with one
do ya

Sorry, I really don't want to part with one yet.

Be sure of the size you are dealing with here. Are the implements large or small, and I'm thinking the 385 has Cat. I 3 point. and the 720 Deere has Cat. II.

The 385 can be switched to cat 2 by turning the
lower arms around but thanks for the heads up I
doubt I will find one close to me anytime soon.

But I will keep looking Thanks to all

Hello everyone. The Abbott 3x2 picture is exactly what my Dad has been searching for for quite some time. I finally came across this forum and found some knowledge on the subject. Essentially he has as IH 656 and he wants to use the fast hitch equipment (instead of using his 400). Anyone know where I can buy one of these? My goal is to surprise him on Christmas.

Might be better off getting ahold of a local fabricating shop and show them a picture of it. Bring them two fast hitch sockets and let them know what cat. your three point hitch is. This close to Christmas you might have to wrap a picture of it and tell him it is on its way.
