Deering SN Plate

I"m restoring a serial number plate off of a 1930 McCormick Deering 15-30k, actually could be a 22-36.
The paint is completely faded.
Wondering if anyone can tell me what the background color should be?
Black I"m assuming but need confirmation.

Call Rice Equiptment,Gordon told me before he retired he had the correct color

Yes, the background color on the serial plate is flat black. Could have originally been gloss but doubt it.
