Changed the hydraulic filter on the housing by the right rear wheel. No dirt or anything on the filter or the screen. Fluid looks fine. It is making an intermittent squealing barely audible over the engine when you pull the lift lever for the rear arms up. I see no leaks in any hoses nor anything damaged. The guy at the parts counter thinks it is the valve on the seat column and priced it at $285.00. Can you folks help me out. All help and suggestions are appreciated. I am a junior mechanic at best. Thanks in advance for your help

I recently had a hydraulic pause/noise after a filter change. I had reused the original oring which was a no-no. I took the filter back out, put the new oring on and it worked fine after that. Perhaps its worth your effort to check the oring.

I'm sorry , I may have been unclear. It stopped working and then I changed the filter but the filter evidently was not the problem.

Put in 5 gallons over full. It hurts nothing and cures the sucking air issue. An Oring in the suction side can and does fail (and other related issues) and over filling covers the leak. (if you have it warm enough to keep ice out of it (or even if it is cold, this is one common (cheap) cure. Jim

IF the hyd's were working one min and then not the next and you found nothing in the hyd. filter . And you have no hyd. at all hitch remotes steering brakes , the you have more problems then you want . It may vary well be that the drive center on the pressure plate either stripped the splines or the rivets let go . And if this is infact the case you will have to split the tractor and replace the clutch pressure plate , pilot bearing IDPTO input shaft new seals and a new bearing . Also when your remove the hyd filter you always replace the gskt. never ever use the old gskt or use guppy GOOO .

The steering still works. The rear lift arms and the loader do not lift. You can see the arms lift an inch or so and then it stops. There is a brushhog on the back right now.
