If it ran when you parked it the timing will not have jumped out of place. Timing is almost never a problem unless some one pulled the distributor off the tractor. One thing you should check is the air cleaner since you said it sat a long time the air cleaner maybe clogged up

I totally agree with old and David G that unless someone has had the distributor out after it was parked timing is probably not involved in your problem. In fact, I have never had to adjust the timing on my Farmalls once they were set up correctly to start with, Hal.
