snow blades

My inlaws had an 8'wide front blade up at 8000ft. hi-altitude Gunnison Colorado for 50+ years.Still do as a matter of fact.Push a lot of snow....

8 foot is no problem with chains and weights or loaded tires. If no weights or chains it is pretty helpless in 6 inches of snow, not pushing anything. The blade will unload weight on the rear tires and basically stop the tractor. Jim

I had a 6' blade on a loader on an H and now on a 300. With loaded tires I did okay without chains but I have ordered chains that are coming Monday so I can continue skidding logs with more snow. The blade would be nicer if it was wider, but it would also not fit through the door of the shed quite as easily.

"Rollie NE PA"; I like that photo! What size tires on your H? I see chains. A discussion over a few beers w/a friend was that the old ladder chains did NOT drop into the cleats if the chains were real tight. He said he had a cross-link set he would sell me for an International 460 for $100. Eliminate the power lines in the photo and set your tractor at an angle - I like winter photos.

Janicholson"; masterful work! The traffic signs, house and even the red sign on the left-side church addition is gone. Did I mention I like winter photos!! That could be on a calendar.
