Farmall 100 white grill?

I know that all the literature and specs show that a 100 has a red grill and the 130s came out with white grill. But I have a 100 that someone had put a bad paint job on. When I started taking off the old paint the last layer on the grill is white. I am almost sure the last owner did not change the grill. I also know that sometimes the dealers changed paint a little to make the old look more like the new models. This is a 1955 model. I have see pics whith white grill could this be what it had? Thank you for the comments

Did I read somewhere that a replacement grill may have been pained white from the factory, or was it a bad dream from reading a JD forum :)

In the '60's, as I recall when Pappy was buying/repairing/selling Cubs, he always replaced the "standard" grille--if it had one when he bought or traded for it--with a 4-bar grille from a '59-'63 Cub. They were still available from IH then, and they came in some sort of yellow primer...kinda looked like Federal Yellow, but with no gloss at all.

Maybe the replacement grilles for the 100 came that way as well...if they were still available at all.
