Tri-Power Cub

Our Triple A's little brother, the Tri-Power Cub!!
This custom was built by Charlie Stewart of Bogalusa Louisiana. He recently loaded it up on his 7.3 Powerstroke Vintage Ford truck and took it to Cruzin the Coast where he got a thumbs up from Danny Kounts of Kounting Kars!! We hope to get the two triples together soon for a family photo.

So how do you adjust the carbs on the two engines on the right? And how do you set the points on the two engines on the left?

Just looks a little close in there to me...

You ask too many questions Mark. lol

BTW, saw you getting gas at Kroger's on State St. this evening.

Since the center engine has a NOS tank, it provides gas for all three. The outer hoods/tanks are easily remove for access when needed. I have a lift at home and it's fairly easy to reach up from the bottom for most maintenance.

ok, im thinking one of those overhead creepers would be your friend on this, where it rolls under the tractor and you half lay half stand on it placing you above the tractor, but how do you have the clutches set up to shift all 3 transmissions?? and im gurssing you run it from the center unit?

How often have you got to futz with the carburetor or distributor on a tractor anyway? Not much.

IIRC, reading about the triple A, all three transmissions were functional and you could power the tractor with one two or three engines. I suspect the Cub is similar, and the solution is simpler than you think.

On the original Triple A years ago, all three clutches were on one pedal. That tractor is now in a museum in Louisiana. It was built by Dewitt Stewart and is owned by Rawlin Williams. When Buddy built his new Triple, he used one clutch pedal for the center and a seperate pedal for the outsides. I followed his lead and I like the way it operates. I had forgot how much fun we had years ago with the original until Buddy built another and shared how much fun he was having now. As Bully would say, "He flung a craving on me" and I started thinking about building "Tri-Power". There have been a few Siamese Cubs, but to my knowledge, "Tri-Power" May be the first Triple. I'm sure I will be told soon of any others. I decided to use Cubs because it fits well on the back of my 1956 F450. It's a perfect combination to get you into a tractor show or car show. It is a gear head special and will make anyone smile.
