IH 560 Brakes

I am checking the brakes on my tractor. When I removed the brake housing there was oil on the brake disks. There is a seal inside the inner housing of the brake, but I can not get to the seal without removing the inside(against tractor side)brake housing.Does this come off and how if so? At the bottom of the brake housing is there a place for the oil to drip out, or is this for air!I am really leary about removing the inside brake housing Any ideas? Thanks in advance

I changed mine a couple years ago if I remember correct there might be a couple of bolts may not but I just drove a screw driver inbetween and you work them off you do need to have the spline clean.

there aren't any bolts but there are indents to pry on look closely, the oring makes it wanna stick but once you get it going it'll come off

I just went through the same thing. It's a real easy fix cause like said the brake backing plate prys out so you can put the seal in. My trouble was I was trying to separate it at the transmission housing..... You need to separate it right behind the lip of the brake backing plate. You can't see the seam where it separates most likely due to dirt accumulation but there is slots to get a chisel or pry bar on there.

"Adrian ; I gotta stick my nose in here and ask your repliers if this would also apply to the brake assembly on the Farmall 340, 460 and International 460; I assume so but...
