Did all Super MTA have IPTO?

My dad has a MTA diesel and we were discussing whether all of the MTA series had the independent PTO. I guess some might have been PTO delete. I am sure some of you know the answer. There is a MTA on the cover of the new 'Antique Power' magazine.

Thanks,
Garry

Ii I recall correctly, all PTOs were options. TA delete SMTA tractors were sold as SMTA tractors. THe disk on the hood did not have the flag to the rear indicating Torque Amplifier. A Transmission driver PTO could (I believe) be ordered and some were. I do not believe a TA equipped SMTA could be had with a Transmission driven non-independent PTO.

Not sure about the SMTA but the suffix R means TA with provision for a transmission driven PTO. Mike at Steel Wheel Ranch had a 300 or 350 with no TA and a transmission driven PTO a couple of years ago.

They could be made with T/A and IPTO. No T/A and IPTO, no T/A and transmission driven PTO. No T/A or PTO. With T/A and trans drive PTO. Last one was actually gear driven from the clutch shaft but the PTO still stopped when the wheels did unless the trans was shifted to neutral and the clutch engaged.

I have a 400 with standard PTO and T/A delete. Also a SMTA with t/a but PTO delete; it just has a cover on the back. I've seen a 300 with standard pto and t/a delete.

Thanks for all of the replies. I kind of thought that most any configuration could be ordered.
