Removing hydraulic ports on 300U......

My 300U has the three front ports which at one time were for a bucket. No bucket now and only want the rear port / handle for a moldboard plow.

Can I remove the front block mounted on the chassis that ran the front ports? Will the PS and rear lift still work ok?

The 300 that I am going to bid on at an auction next month has extra ports on it for a loader. If I get it they will be removed and I won't give it a second thought.

Removing them is just fine. block the ports and make a metal plate to block the movement of the handles. I would leave the valves mounted as it works now and if disturbed could be contaminated. Jim

the previous Owner (who I know) - his father-in-law was a local farmer and he bought it new with a loader, but the loader has been gone for years. I bought tractor and FH grader blade.

here is a picture - I am thinking of removing the entire that I have circled.

Will I need to extend the line or may I cap and do away with the line I have circled as #2

I never said that, if I remember right. This tractor has 1800 hrs on it, I think that is correct, has original tires, etc. It has not seen heavy use. I will examine it first. Several people on this forum have mentioned the damaged steering because of a loader--that doesn't mean they are all like that.

I would leave the valves on it : you may want use them in the future for remotes; such as wood splitter, post driver, or a rear implement that requires a hydraulic cylinder, and, they can be single or double action. I use mine even after I sold my loader; I made hoses to run to rear of tractor and I believe they increase the value of the tractor by usefulness. Mark

Why would you be taking the valves off? That's like removing the TA instead of fixing it. It makes the tractor less valuable and less useful.

I am not going to get rid of the valves and I do not have any intentions of ever getting rid of the tractor. I use the tractor with snow in the winter and I use it for local "moldboard plowing" events. My leg always hit these ports when plowing. I would never get rid of them for good, but since I have apart, I would like to remove them, since I only use the rear lift.
