$100 H. So close...

but not quite fast enough! I was caller #2 this morning. Motor was shot but all there. Guy posted it on Craigslist and got a call almost immediately. Lady was on her way to pay up for her husband who is a truck driver out on the road. Could have used the parts for my 1950 and been money ahead on the rest of it. Better luck next time! There are a few deals out there but have to be super quick.

Yup, gotta be in the right place at the right time with a stack of $100's in your pocket.

I've missed out on a few of them lately. Been looking for a dump trailer.

Neighbor picked up a dump trailer for $300.00 a month ago, Pulls and dumps, needs paint. Have no idea where he found it as I try to keep a eye out for good deals.

I bought a Farmall A in 1975 for $100.00 with the 16-inch moldboard plow. The engine was stuck and
some parts in a basket. Hal

That is impossible. A $100 H. In other posts some guys say they bring $1000 to $1500 consistently. LOL

Yea, RUNNING H's.

No, not a runner. The guy just wanted it off his property and not junking up the place, lol. He asked if I was a restorer. Nope, just wanted to use it as a donor for my H. He said he bought it a few years back for $700 but it smoked pretty bad. He just ran it that way until it totally conked out last fall. His grandkids road around on it for hours in the yard in 1st gear so he figured he got his money's worth to get rid of it for nothing.

We got our 1950 for $200 and previously a 1946 B for $300. Just have to put a little in them to get running again. Like everyone else, I'm just keeping one eye open for the next project. Need to be quicker though!

(quoted from post at 21:12:08 10/15/13) Where is it now? How much did you sell it for?

If you mean where are the H and B, they are sitting in the shed. The B runs and needs paint. The H needs a few parts before we get it running again. Just waiting on the right deals. Plus a little more time.

There is no way in heck you people could go buy an H worth owning for $500 on any given day. If that's all they are worth I will come take yours for $550 and let you make 10%.

LOL that's kinda funny, Guy here last year had an H with a loader/snow bucket, decent looking with good tires, heat houser, Swartz WFE, tire chains and a Corn Husker 3 point. He was asking 1500 for the whole works. He got about 950 for it. Took him a long time to sell at that price. I passed on it cause I didn't need it.

sflem - for $200 buying the H was worth it to me. Does it need some work and $$$ to make it go put-put on down the road? Yup. Will I have more money in it then it is worth when I'm done? Yup. Will my son, my family, my Dad and I have fun getting the old girl running again? Yup. Worth every penny to buy a junker and get her running again.

Could I go out to buy one ready to go to work? Yup. But what fun is that?

Just some random thoughts from a guy who lives in town, works behind a desk but grew up on the farm and wants to enjoy a little bit of that life again. Now to find a C that needs to be rescued! Have a good day guys!

I agree 100%, but (at least here in WI) the >$500 Hs aren't around everyday. If you put a $300 H on CL it would be gone by supper.
