560 differential replacement

Remind me, what has to come out to replace the differential?

Pretty much everything, if I'm not mistaken, right?

Remove transmission top, slide axles out enough to remove bull gears. Remove brakes, bull pinion gears and then differential carrier housings. If the 560 has all updates, tapered bearings are used to support the differential housing and a special tapered shim used on one side. Can't remember if the differential housing will wiggle out if the left side carrier housing is left in place. Depending on what's going on you may need it out anyway.

Yes, I'm thinking you only have to remove one side. But it's been a long time.
