Farmall A - 1940

Hello

I just inherited a 1940 Farmall A, with a cultivator, snow blade and disc.

I'm tickled by this new arrival, and am curious what belly type mowers are designed to hook up to this machine, either from Woods or IH.
Currently, the rear pulley is the wide belt type (not v-belt) but I suspect that can be changed pretty easily.

Also, I have the curved tine type cultivator, and was curious which manual or book I need to figure out how to install and use the cultivator.

Thank you so much in advance for your patience...

I am a Massey/Ford guy, so this is a new direction for me... (Massey 30, Massey 101 Jr, and Ford 3400)

This is an A I bought with a stuck engine last summer, this summer she cut my fields. Guys here helped me identify the mower as a Woods L503. Woods does not make the L503 anymore, but I believe they still make an L59. Both are 60" cut. Either one cuts real well and parts are still available.
Best Regards,
Charlie

The curved tools are an option as they can be replaces wth regular shanks with shovels. If it has a pipe frame where the curved tooling fastens you have a A-136. If it has only one lever for lifting mounted on top of the tranny its an A 134. The other model and most common its an A-138. The 136-138 can also be exhaust lift attachments that attachment will have two levers the same length. A woods 6ft belley mower would be fine they also have a 5ft model.

I'll post a photo of the cultivators when I get back to the Club storage building...

Thanks for the interest, all, as I learn about this new machine and her toys...
