Question for you:

I'm going to rebuild the engine on my A. Wasn't going to bother but it turns out I use it to mow the yard a good but. It's got some pretty good blowby.

Anyway, before I tear into it I want to clean up the cooling system. Does the vinegar trick work with thermosiphon? Any harm to running her up to hot and then letting it sit a week?

not old.. but I have a few thermosyphon machines. I have fileld them with straight vinegar and warmed them and then let em set.. then backflushed the block. never had one blow up. :)

Vinegar works in any cooling system shoot even in the old steam heating systems in homes.

I can't think why it would not work. I would start it mid week too and get it hot. Might not do any good but it is surprising the gunk that will flush out.
