Bought it this way---was a MD

QUESTIONS----PTO works---Belt Pulley works.

Not sure about the Hydraulics--See Pics of what it has. There is one port with a thinking Pioneer coupling and two ports on the left side.

You have got a belly pump, it has one way hydraulic capability. You can hook a hose to any of the three ports and hook the other end to the raise end of a cylinder on an implement and see if it works. All three ports are together. It is possible to run a two way cylinder but it needs a lot of other non-stock parts.

The lever for engaging the belly pump appears to be mostly missing. The pump won't do anything if you can't engage it.
 
ZACHARY and Rusty--thank you. On the 283 there are two pulleys on the front of the engine. Could a fella hook up a hyd. pump that would run off a belt that would give a guy a live hyd. system for a two way cylinder??

Really...it has a gas V-8 in it and you are worried about non-stock hyd parts. :lol: I know what you mean.
 
RPM the 283 will turn compared to the original engine, would guess the drive coupling to the hydraulic is removed also. Probably need to be carful running things on the PTO or belt Pulley. That 283 idles at half or almost half of the no load throttle of the original engine.
 
I bought an A with belt driven hydraulics. They had gotten a self contained unit from a grain truck (square reservoir with pump integral). They put a pulley on it and put it on the side of the engine. It worked pretty slick.
